KLM is also deploying additional frequencies to Taipei (TPE), Hong Kong (HKG), Montreal (YUL), Toronto (YYZ), and Los Angeles (LAX).In Europe, KLM will fly more frequently to a number of destinations this summer, such as Edinburgh (EDI), Newcastle (NCL), Glasgow (GLA), Southampton (SOU), Prague (PRG), Bologna (BLQ), Florence (FLR), and Genoa (GOA). To Billund (BLL) and Stavanger (SVG) one daily flight will be added, and frequencies to Krakow (KRK), Gdansk (GDN), and Wroclaw (WRO) will be increased. As of 1 April 2024, KLM will resume its daily flight to Tel Aviv (TLV). At least until 19 May, the flight will operate with a stopover in Larnaca, on Cyprus. KLM is closely monitoring the security situation in Israel. With about 7% growth in seats compared to the summer schedule of 2023, KLM is almost reaching pre-corona levels. In recent years, many flights have gradually been added to the KLM network. To have a clear and consistent structure, flight numbers have been updated for all European KLM flights as of the summer schedule. The new flight numbers were loaded in the GDS already last year and therefore there is no impact on any bookings. From Sharepoint#klm #summer #schedule #2024 #airline #aviation

They will operate these flights on an A350-900 with 32 business class seats & 297 in economy class. We welcome this addition to TK's already operational Melbourne route via Singapore.Turkish Airlines starting flights to Sydney brings several benefits:- Increased Connectivity: This new route will enhance global connectivity, linking Australia more directly to Europe, the Middle East, and beyond.- Convenient Stopovers: Istanbul is geographically well-positioned for convenient stopovers between Europe and Australia for both the leisure and business travel market.- A boost to business travel: Increased competition with TK's competitive pricing and renowned business class service.- Another route for our Star Alliance loyalists.#turkishairlines #corporatetravel #businesstravel #staralliance #travelcounsellorsforbusiness

BUDGET AIRLINES IN SOUTHEAST ASIAThis is my rare holiday. I haven't flown budget for a long time.I remember that the early 2000s low-cost carriers (LCCs) became a game-changer in Southeast Asia’s aviation industry. Pioneers like Air Asia offered affordable, no-frills travel, opened up the skies to millions of budget-conscious travelers. With a simplified service model and unbundled fares, AirAsia’s rapid growth spurred competition, with airlines like Lion Air, Cebu Pacific, and Nok Air joining the race. The competition was intense and it brought down Valueair in 2005 and Indochine Airlines in 2009.By 2011, premium airlines like Singapore Airlines (SIA) couldn't ignore the trend and so it started Scoot, in response to the rising demand for affordable flights, focusing on long-haul routes. Then in 2016, Tiger Airways was absorbed into Scoot. Then came COVID in 2019, which brought down Air Asia Japan and TigerAir Australia (a part of Virgin Australia). In 2021, SilkAir was merged with Scoot, consolidating their routes and services. Thus far, Scoot survived the pandemic and competition. Today, it is soaring with over 60 destinations, leveraging on the branding of SIA and proving that travel can be both budget-friendly and reliable!#BudgetTravel #LowCostCarriers #AirAsia #Scoot #AviationRevolution #FlyMoreForLess #SoutheastAsiaSkies #TravelSmart #AffordableFlights #WanderlustOnABudget

Full house on day 2 of the Aviation Festival Asia for the opening keynote from Ching Kiat LIM of Changi Airport Group. With Changi being one of the key airports fuelling growth and recovery in the APAC region, it's no surprise that consumer sentiment for booking is very confident. Visa relaxation with China, and solid signs from Indonesia and India are driving that growth. VFR and Leisure are recovering well, and bleisure is becoming very common (but hard to track). Passengers are also looking for more premium products, convenience, and speed. The expectation for airlines and airports to increase efforts towards sustainability is growing, and Changi Airport Group is pushing the frontier in terms of seamless operations and experience. In fact, most passengers will not even need to show their passports by EOY. If you're in the aviation industry, make sure to keep an eye on these trends and developments. What do you think about the future of air travel in the APAC region? Share your thoughts in the comments below! #AviationIndustry #APACRegion #ChangiAirportGroup #Sustainability #SeamlessExperience #aviationfestasia

Singapore Airlines Concorde: The full storySingapore Airlines once operated a Concorde between the Lion City and London, but politics and economics meant it didn't last.Summary: Singapore Airlines once embarked on a groundbreaking venture, operating the Concorde in partnership with British Airways for flights between Singapore and London. This move marked a significant moment in aviation history, cutting the travel time for this route in half and placing Singapore Airlines among the select few airlines to operate the world's fastest passenger airliner. The collaboration began in the late 1970s, with the Concorde slashing the traditional flight duration from approximately 18 hours to just under 10 hours. This service catered primarily to business travelers, celebrities, and politicians, offering a luxurious and expedient travel option. However, the venture faced challenges from the outset, including political hurdles and economic pressures, leading to its eventual discontinuation.Key points in the Singapore Airlines Concorde story include:Concorde's Arrival in Singapore: The aircraft's promotional tour in 1972 marked Singapore as a crucial stopover, setting the stage for future operations.Joint Venture with British Airways: Negotiations in 1977 led to a partnership between Singapore Airlines and British Airways, aiming to operate the Concorde on the Singapore-London route.Political and Economic Challenges: The service encountered obstacles, such as overflight rights disputes with India and Malaysia, and rising fuel costs, impacting its viability. The Concorde Experience: Despite its short-lived operation, the Concorde flights offered an unparalleled travel experience, significantly reducing flight times and showcasing the potential for supersonic travel.Ultimately, the Singapore Airlines Concorde operation was a bold experiment in aviation history, demonstrating both the possibilities and limitations of supersonic commercial flight. Though the venture did not last, it left an indelible mark on the legacy of both Singapore Airlines and the iconic Concorde.#SingaporeAirlines #Concorde #AviationHistory #SupersonicTravel #BritishAirways #InnovationInFlighthttps://lnkd.in/gufaX_k4
